It’s time to get the summer started right!

The inspiration for “That First Sunrise” came to me as I considered the biblical account of the creation of the earth. I thought about the day that God created all of the animals and tried to imagine the experience from their perspective. It was warm and bright outside. They had the entire world before them and everything they needed. And then the night came…

It became dark and cold. They were probably confused and afraid. They had never experienced this. They didn’t know what was happening and had no way of knowing if or when the warmth and light of the sun would return. The beginning of the 1st “verse” – where you first hear the lead melody played on the Rhodes – represents sunrise. That moment when a sliver of light first peeked over the horizon. The most attentive of the animals begin to raise their heads and look at one another with uncertainty mixed with a touch of hope. It’s still cold, but no longer quite as dark.

As the light slowly increases, the animals begin to interact with one another – you hear this in the unison synth parts and the counter melodies. As light and warmth continue to increase – you hear the intensity of the track slightly increase. Even though it’s the first day, I like to imagine frightened babies looking to their parents for some sort of answer about what’s happening.

Then – just before the 3:00 mark - the moment of revelation occurs. Mid-morning approaches. They feel the warmth and see the light and recognize the sun has indeed returned! At that moment, they erupt into celebration and the party continues for the next 5 minutes… credits released May 31, 2019

I Can't Get Enough

Solitary Scientist

This is where Funk and Soulful House Music intersect!

I was at work one day and a friend was playing "Don't Stop Til You Get Enough" by MJ. For some reason, in that moment the breakdown near the end grabbed me and inspired me. I began with that loop and composed the entire song around it. Enjoy!

The SS mix is the same track without the sample

Free To Be Epic

This track was originally conceived as a remix to the song “Investigation” from the EP “A Child of The 80’s Vol. 1”. I played live bass on that track. This track was originally conceived as a remix to the song “Investigation” from the EP “A Child of The 80’s Vol. 1”. I played live bass on that track. On “Free 2 Be Epic” I sampled several pieces of that performance. I re-sequenced and re-triggered them to create completely new basslines. The inspiration to create this track was so strong that it literally interrupted the creation of the original. I actually finished the “remix” first.

Listening to the keyboard work I did on this track is what gave me the confidence to complete “A Child of The 80’s Vol. 1” and create everything else you hear me doing today.

The Goldfinger Anthology 1997-2004

The King Midas Project

In 1997, I began developing material for a dance music project I called “Goldfinger”. (King Midas… GOLDfinger… get it?) In 1997, I began developing material for a dance music project I called “Goldfinger”. (King Midas… GOLDfinger… get it?) Anyway, I was still immersed in hip-hop and R&B at that time and planned to put 4 house tracks on vinyl for the purpose of generating funds to invest in those projects/artists. For a variety of reasons, the Goldfinger project began to change and evolve. I completed several different incarnations – from 3-song EP’s to 12-song LP’s – even having one professionally mastered before pulling the plug and starting over.

In the fall of 2008 I finally had a combination of tracks that I felt worked together as a project. I released “Goldfinger Vol.1: 100% Pure Dance Music”, An eight-track collection of house and dance music featuring some remixes of my R&B songs as well as some hot instrumentals. It’s available at all of the major digital outlets. Check the Products section at www.waynebo.com for links.

As I combed through my archives recently, I realized that left in the aftermath of my indecisiveness were several very good, unreleased dance tracks. I figured “why not share some good music?” So to you dance music lovers, I present a collection of tracks that should have come to you much sooner. Enjoy!

Also, be sure to checkout the Goldfinger DJ Mix, which includes tracks from both projects as well as more exclusives. Listen & download here: www.waynebo.com/music-109.html credits released April 6, 2011
